Diaconal Ministries Canada
is an organization that includes deacons from British Columbia to the Maritimes.
In existence since 1959, we want to help the local ministry of the deacons grow.
We offer training, workshops and advice to deacons. We are expanding our work in
starting diaconal outreach projects. We sponsor the Operation Manna offering.
The proceeds go to fund projects in Canada that reach out in Jesus' name to meet
people's needs.
DMC's Vision and Mission Statements refined on June 9/'03 and reprinted with

VISION STATEMENT
Transforming Communities in Christ
DMC’s vision is anchored in II Corinthians 5:17 – 20:
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the
new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world
to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed
to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as
though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf:
Be reconciled to God."
This passage reminds us that where there is reconciliation in Christ, there is
transformation. The Apostle Paul describes how God has reconciled the world to
himself in Christ, and urges every community of believers to participate in the
task of reconciliation.
MISSION STATEMENT
To inspire, equip and encourage deacons and their partners in transforming
communities with the love of Christ.
In this mission, DMC understands prayer, collaboration, servant leadership,
holistic ministry, and justice to be important values.
